Jessica Stankowski

With over a decade of experience in the acupuncture profession, Dr. Stankowski is an Alberta-trained Acupuncturist with a practice in Edmonton. She has volunteered with the Alberta Association of Traditional Chinese Medical Doctors, worked on the College of Acupuncturists of Alberta’s Registration and Program Review Regulatory Committee, and is a former chair of the Council’s Governance and Nominating Committee. Jessica holds a bachelor of arts degree in psychology and sociology from the University of Alberta.

Tamara Jones

Ms. Jones is an Alberta appointed marriage officiant serving in the Calgary area for the past 16 years, as well as a community leader, volunteer, and human rights advocate. She is a sought-after key-note speaker, having addressed both professional and volunteer organizations, focused on prevention of domestic violence. Tamara was a Director for the charity foundation Wishing Well Wedding and Event Foundation and a Director at Large for the Alberta Live Events Coalition. She has a diploma in Human Resources Management from the University of Calgary and has completed the Executive Leadership Program from the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford.

Michelle Phillips

Dr. Phillips is a Doctor of Acupuncture who has over 15 years of experience in the western medical field coupled with over a decade of experience running a full-time private practice in acupuncture.  Michelle has volunteered her time as President, Vice President, and Director for the Alberta Association of Acupuncturists and Traditional Chinese Medical Doctors and been a board member for both the Acupoint and Regeneration Injection Association of BC and the Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Society. In addition to her volunteer work, she has been an instructor at Grant McEwan University, as well as at the Canadian Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Michelle has a Bachelor of Science in genetics from the University of Alberta, a masters in human genetics from the University of Pittsburg, and a diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She has been licensed in both Alberta and B.C., and currently runs an acupuncture practice in Edmonton.

Erin Stroud

Ms. Stroud has worked in the private sector, in the financial services and insurance industries, and most recently spent the last 10 years as an executive working for the Safety Codes Council, the organization that oversees a provincially regulated occupation and industry. Erin has direct experience in corporate governance, strategic and operations planning, policy development, financial oversight, marketing and communications, stakeholder education, project management, and navigating within a regulated environment. Erin holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, an Executive Management certificate from both Queens University and the University of Alberta, Six Sigma certification and governance courses from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Monica Ansah-Sam

Ms. Ansah-Sam is currently the Manager for Tailings and Dams for the North Atlantic operations of a global mining company. Her career has involved technical leadership and senior advisory roles in geotechnical and tailings engineering. Through mentorship and speaking engagements, Monica is an advocate for attracting, retaining, and promoting women in engineering. Monica is also a director at large of a non-governmental board, a Vice-chair for Black Alumni at Western (BAWA), and is a volunteer and teacher for children at a charity organization. She has a degree in civil engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana, a masters in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering from Western University, Ontario and an executive master of business administration from the Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary.

Michael McFarlane

Dr. McFarlane has run a private acupuncture practice for nearly two decades and is a teacher of Acupuncture at the Calgary College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Prior to that, Michael was a teacher for the acupuncture and massage therapy programs at Grant MacEwan University for over 10 years. Michael holds a B.Sc. from the University of Alberta, is a graduate of the Grant MacEwan Acupuncture Program in Edmonton, Alberta and took part in an internship program in China where he completed courses in acupuncture, Tai Chi, and Chinese Massage.

Jonna McQuade

Dr. McQuade is the co-owner and operator of an acupuncture clinic in Airdrie, Alberta. Her career has spanned over 14 years and taken her around the world, including volunteering in Nepal, teaching in Ecuador, and working in the Acupuncture department at the Provincial Hospital in Xi’an China. She has previously been a licensed Practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine in B.C. and is currently licensed and working in Alberta. She is also a Fellow of the Acupuncture and TCM Board of Reproductive Medicine, and a member of the Obstetrical Acupuncture Association. Jonna has extensive education, having obtained an athletic therapy diploma from Mount Royal College and a bachelor of science in kinesiology from the University of Calgary. She has also trained at the Academy of Classical Oriental Medicine in Nelson, B.C., the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Victoria, and the University Hospital in Chengdu.
